What to put on prototype 28. Video World of Tanks American tank destroyer T28 Prototype

T28 Prototype- American tank destroyer of the eighth level. It has a limited tower, this tank destroyer is very good in city maps, as it can thanks to the tower, and does excellent damage.

A little bit of history

The design of this tank was developed in 1945; it was supposed to be heavily armored. The gun was installed 105 mm T54E1, similar to the T28 tank. The body was made from 52 to 203 mm. They planned to install an engine the same as on the T28. 8-cylinder engine, with a power of 500 hp. During training tests, this tank was let down by the VVSS suspension; due to its heavy weight, it was necessary to change the suspension to HVSS. The crew consisted of five people.
These were: Commander, Gunner, Mechanic-Driver, Gunner - Radio Operator, Loader.

TTX (Tactical and Technical Characteristics)

The weapon is the most important thing. With the top gun 120mm AT Gun T53, with penetration of 248mm this is a regular bbshka, and with 297mm gold, we can easily penetrate our enemies at levels 8-9. The frontal protection is excellent (hull 203/51/51 mm, turret 203/127/101 mm) with such armor you can perfectly tank with your forehead on city maps, and the turret also allows you to successfully shoot from around corners.

Advantages and disadvantages

Pros:
- good armor for the forehead and turret;
- an excellent weapon, with excellent penetration;
- the presence of a tower, since not all tank destroyers have towers.

Minuses:
- not very good accuracy of the top gun;
- poor speed;
- low maneuverability;
- the tower is limited, does not rotate 360°;
- vulnerable places: stern and sides;
- high visibility.

Equipment and equipment

Crew

1. Commander: 1 – Sixth sense; 2 – Combat brotherhood.
2. Gunner:
3. Driver: 1 – Camouflage; - The Brotherhood of War.
4. Radio operator: 1 – Camouflage; 2 - Combat brotherhood.
5. Loader: 1 – Camouflage; 2 - Combat brotherhood.

Tactics and Application in Combat

Thanks to the powerful frontal armor of 203 mm, which is why we will often not be penetrated, we can easily tank from around the corner on city maps like Himmelsdorf.

With the help of a powerful gun with excellent penetration at this level, we can deal a huge amount of damage.
You can also sit in the bushes and defend the base. To do this, take it with you Stereo tube And Camouflage net. If possible, shoot from behind double bushes; this will help you not reveal your position, so you can actively help your allies in difficult situations.
.
Vulnerabilities:

This tank can also try itself as a heavy tank, as I already said, due to its excellent frontal armor. This allows you to fight effectively in the city. But, due to the low dynamics, I do not recommend going into open spaces, as any other tank with high dynamics can spin us around. This is, after all, a tank destroyer; it is designed to deflate the base at the right time.

Conclusion

To summarize, we have excellent frontal armor, an excellent gun.
Even among 9 levels, we can greatly influence the outcome of the battle. But we need to take care of the sides and stern, as these are our weak points.
I recommend, if possible, download this tank, you will not only have fun, but also earn a lot of silver and .

We're just as slow as the regular T28 (18km/h), and also have a mediocre turning speed in place (20˚/s). The main difference (not counting the turret) from the T28 is that we can install all the top equipment on the stock chassis. Frontal armor is excellent (hull 203/51/51 mm, turret 203/127/101 mm). The top gun is the same as on its brother, 120 mm AT Gun T53, level 10. The penetration of the T28 prototype is 248 mm and the damage is 400 HP, the minus of the turret arrangement of the gun is a decrease in the rate of fire (5.94 rounds/min), an increase in the aiming speed of 2.3 s, and the dispersion of the gun is slightly increased 0.39 m/100 m. If you have already examined all the equipment on the T95, then you only have to “open” the TOP chassis. The turret allows us to play “swing”, it has become more difficult to spin us, and we do not have to move and unmask ourselves when turning the gun.

pros

  • Frontal armor is the best at its level
  • Excellent top weapon
  • UVN at the level of American tanks
  • Presence of a tower

Minuses

  • Bad dynamics
  • Weak armor on the sides and stern
  • The wheelhouse is open, which means hello “suitcases” with full damage
  • Unlike our brother, we have high visibility

In World of Tanks, the t28 prototype is an art favorite. We also have terrible dynamics. Well, because we will often perform, then I consider it necessary to upgrade BB, but not all at once, it is advisable to upgrade it with the third perk or later, before that there are more necessary skills. Such as:

  • Commander: "Sixth Sense", "Eagle Eye"
  • Gunner: Smooth rotation of the turret, “Repair”
  • Driver-mechanic: “Virtuoso”, “King of off-road”
  • Loader: Desperate, Repair
  • Radio operator: “Radio interception”, “Repair”

Repair is necessary because... We will often be criticized for equipment; for those who like playing in the PT style, the third perk can be upgraded to “Disguise”

Additional modules

Unlike the T28, the “prototype” can serve not only as a defender, but also support the attack. Therefore, the choice of equipment depends on your playing style.

To actively support TT (I’m not talking about it, you simply won’t catch up with them) you will need:

  • Rammer - increasing DPM
  • Vertical aiming stabilizer - we will rarely shoot on the move, but we will have to play “swing”
  • Optics - our visibility is low and we need to raise it, otherwise we will remain blind altogether

If you like to hit the enemy from the second line and stay in cover, then this will help you:

  • Camouflage network - it’s clear from the name why
  • Stereo tube - unlike Optics it gives 25%, but it starts working 3 seconds after stopping, but we are going to play while standing in cover
  • Rammer - where would we be without him?

Game tactics

There are two tactics, or we sit on the defensive and shoot the enemies that light up, not forgetting to change positions after the shot, otherwise greetings will come from the artillery. Or we push through the defense, trying not to expose the sides and stern.

Penetration zones T28 prototype

The T28 prototype tank destroyer has excellent frontal armor, but it doesn’t often save us from level 10 shots. Therefore, I do not recommend getting into trouble. Front of the hull: to the right of the gun is the driver, to the left is the radio operator. It's difficult to break through, but it's possible. The junction between the turret and the hull is well penetrated. The turret's forehead and gun mantlet are practically impenetrable: to the right of the gun is the gunner, to the left is the loader. The commander sits on the left side immediately behind the gunner. Any artillery hit on the tower will crit one or more crew members. On the starboard side, under the turret and in the rear of the turret, there is an ammunition rack; these places can be penetrated with a bang. Immediately behind the ammunition rack are the fuel tanks, which are also well penetrated. The engine is in the stern.

Good day everyone and welcome to the site! Today we will talk about real and very high-quality bush gameplay, because on the agenda is an American tank destroyer of the eighth level with a rotating turret - here is a detailed T28 Prototype guide.

TTX T28 Prototype

The first thing that every owner of this unit should know when going into battle is that we have a rather small safety margin by the standards of level eight equipment, but we have a fairly good basic overview of 380 units.

The situation with survivability here is quite interesting, because the T28 Prototype’s armor characteristics, on the one hand, are impressive, but on the other, disappointing. So, we have a fairly thick VLD and turret forehead that can withstand attacks from most classmates, and that’s good.

As for weaknesses, the T28 Prototype World of Tanks is easily shot through the cheeks of the turret, and the cardboard sides do not withstand impacts at all, often even at an angle. As you may have guessed, being at the bottom of the list, we will very rarely be able to hold back anything without losing strength points.

Another sad feature of our American woman is her mobility. The T28 Prototype WoT tank destroyer was awarded with poor maximum speed, terrible dynamics and very poor maneuverability. At the same time, even with the presence of a tower, it is quite easy to spin us with a mobile ST or LT.

gun

Since things are quite bad with the general characteristics, the situation with weapons should improve the situation and indeed, the gun here is quite good.

The T28 Prototype gun does not have the highest alpha strike, but it can be called good. True, the rate of fire leaves much to be desired, for this reason our DPM without additional equipment and perks is approximately 2380 units, which is not so much.

The penetration of the T28 Prototype WoT is also not prohibitive, but it is quite enough to fight even against level ten vehicles. True, it is still better to carry about 10 gold shells with you, so that even the top heavies are afraid of us.

But the most pleasant aspect of the weapon’s parameters will be the comfort of dealing damage. First of all, the T28 Prototype tank is capable of lowering the gun 10 degrees down, and the presence of a turret that rotates 286 degrees (143 in each direction) is very pleasing.

Regarding accuracy, our spread is large, but there is a fairly fast aiming, and if you stand still and rotate only the turret, it turns out that the T28 Prototype World of Tanks tank destroyer is also well stabilized, so it’s a pleasure to realize damage in such conditions.

Advantages and disadvantages

In order to feel more confident in battle and make the right decisions depending on the situation, you need to thoroughly know at least the main strengths and weaknesses of your tank, so now we will highlight them separately.
Pros:
Decent one-time damage;
Good gun accuracy;
Presence of a tower;
Comfortable vertical aiming angles;
Good frontal armor.
Minuses:
Very poor mobility;
Poor maneuverability;
Cardboard sides and roof;
Small margin of safety.

Equipment for T28 Prototype

It's no secret that a lot depends on the correct choice of additional modules. In our case, there is nothing complicated, it’s enough to improve the DPM, slightly adjust the accuracy and make a bias towards the review, so the equipment on the T28 Prototype looks like this:
1. - the same increase in damage per minute that will make us a more dangerous fighter.
2. is the only possible option to increase accuracy, and at the same time simplify the implementation of damage.
3. - with a bush style of combat, which we will talk about later, this module looks especially advantageous.

An alternative to the last point could be. This module comprehensively increases the damage dealt per minute, makes the aiming speed even more enjoyable and slightly improves visibility, so this option is interesting, but only when you are confident that your allies will be able to illuminate enemy positions well.

Crew training

Another aspect of the game that affects comfort in battle, but requires more attention and responsibility, because retraining the crew takes a lot of time and effort. To avoid mistakes, it is better to upgrade perks on the T28 Prototype in the following order:
Commander - , , , .
Gunner - , , , .
Driver mechanic - , , , .
Radio operator - , , , .
Loader - , , , .

Equipment for T28 Prototype

When choosing consumables, you can save a little and take, ,. Still, we will often be far from the line of collision. But if you still want to get more survivability and insure yourself in case of unforeseen situations, it is better to carry equipment from , and where the last option can be replaced with , our tank rarely burns.

T28 Prototype Tactics

Now that you know the strengths and weaknesses of this machine, have equipped it with the necessary consumables, the right equipment, and have decided on leveling up the perks, it’s time to touch on the strategic aspect of the game.

For the T28 Prototype, combat tactics consist of positioning on the second or third line and firing at a distance. This conclusion suggests itself in view of the frankly weak mobility and vulnerable areas in the vehicle’s armor.

You need to take an advantageous position away from the front line, from where the T28 Prototype World of Tanks can comfortably fire at allied light without being illuminated. It’s even better if you manage to occupy a point where enemy artillery is missing you, and just in case there will be alternate routes to retreat.

Due to the fact that the T28 Prototype tank has good air defense and a rotating turret, it will be much easier to find such a position, but it is not worth standing in one place for the entire battle; as soon as the position loses its relevance, it is better to move.

If we talk about battles at the top of the list, the T28 Prototype WoT tank destroyer can get close to the enemy, but this must be done carefully. Under no circumstances should you turn your body too much, play from alpha strike and keep in mind that in our hands we have a machine in one direction, which should be chosen very carefully and quickly.

Otherwise, you must constantly monitor the mini-map and never allow mobile enemy tanks to approach you. Despite the fact that the American tank destroyer T28 Prototype World of Tanks has a rotating turret, both the hull and the turret rotate very slowly, so turning this self-propelled gun will not be difficult.

Introduction

American tank destroyer of the eighth level. Only with the “Turtle” does the era of US armored self-propelled guns begin; the rest of the time you rode “crystal guns”. To be happy or not? More likely no than yes. Having thick frontal armor is good, no one argues with that. But it turns out that at high levels it is no longer enough. Plus slowness and sensitivity to landmines. On this tank destroyer you will have to suffer in order to advance to. And if punishment is inevitable, then you need to relax and get maximum pleasure.

Historical reference

Already in 1943, the American military became preoccupied with breaking through long-term fortifications like the Siegfried Line. It was supposed to create a well-armored tank without a turret, with a powerful weapon installed, capable of hitting pillboxes.

During the creation of the unit, the frontal armor was increased to 300 mm. Weight increased to 95 tons. All this, naturally, resulted in problems with the chassis, where it was necessary to replace the electromechanical transmission with a mechanical one. At first they wanted to order 25 prototypes, but the US Armed Forces Logistics Directorate decided not to risk it and reduced the order to five.

As a result, the car simply did not make it to the war, since production began in May 1945. Hope glimmered for the Pacific Front, but soon Japan signed a surrender. The order was reduced to two copies, which were used as guinea pigs at the Aberdeen proving ground, and also for testing floating bridges.

Gaming characteristics

The Turtle, thanks to its powerful gun and strong frontal armor, became a stationary firing point. Let's look at its characteristics in terms of the game:

Protection

Our main thing is armor. 254 mm in the forehead is not a big deal. However, there are nuances. Firstly, only the area around the mask is maximally armored. In other places on the front it is about 200 mm, which is no longer a problem even at level eight for some tanks. In addition, the angles of inclination are not rational, except for the NLD, which is generally impossible to aim. The sides and stern of 50 mm are not even worth mentioning. Secondly, the commander's cupolas are protected by 106 mm armor plates. There are two of them, and they attract shells. Thirdly, the roof is only 25 mm, and land mines can pass through with full damage. The only thing that saves us is the strength of 1500 hit points - we will die long and painfully.

Firepower

First two guns 90mm AT Gun T15E2 And 105mm AT Gun T5E1 we go through as quickly as possible. They are nothing impressive except their rate of fire. And here 120 mm AT Gun T53 worth considering in more detail. Yes, it is less accurate and takes longer to fire (not in comparison with other tank destroyers), but it provides guaranteed damage from the first shot.

And there is a reason - armor penetration with a standard projectile is 248 mm! A one-time average damage of 400 HP completes the picture. At the same time, a rate of fire of 6.59 rounds per minute gives a DPM of 2637 HP. This is much more than stock speed shooters. The disadvantages include low vertical declination angles - only minus five degrees.

Dynamics

Top engine Ford GAFM2A1 produces 780 hp For our car this is nothing - the maximum speed is only 22 km/h. We definitely recommend changing the tracks T46 on T56. Maneuverability will increase significantly (from 20 to 24 degrees/sec) and load capacity (by almost three tons). In general, mobility

our weak point.

Detection and communication

But the radio communication of the tank destroyer is critically important in order to shoot at a distance. Top radio station SCR 528 allows you to maintain stable contact at a distance of 745 meters. This is quite enough to see opponents halfway across the map. The visibility is not bad for a tank destroyer - 370 meters, but it is still better to increase it with improvised means and skills. Stealth with a low silhouette is already quite good, but camouflage and a net are worth buying.

Pumping and equipment

How to best study T28? If you played diligently, you managed to pump out the pre-top 105 mm gun. If you switch to “Turtle” from the “prototype” T28, then you get the whole set of guns, radio stations and even engines at once. True, the last option is maneuvering within the eighth level, while people usually come from the seventh. Therefore, we will tell you how to download from T25 AT. For free experience, you buy tracks, and then urgently upgrade the top 120 mm gun. After this, we increase the communication radius, and only then move on to the engine. All the same, T28 is slow, and there is no escape from it.

The crew, surprisingly, consists of only four people, so we distribute our skills wisely. We download them to the standard PT version: the commander - “Sixth Sense”, the rest - “Disguise”. Then the commander pumps up the green paint, and the rest of the tankers acquire the skills for accurate and fast shooting, increased visibility and high-quality movement on soft soils. The Loader can be specialized in Desperado and Proximity Ammunition. The third level is a perk for everyone - military brotherhood.

As for special equipment, we recommend the classic sniper version: “Stereo Tube”, “Camouflage Net” and “Rammer”. There is also an option for active actions: “Rammer”, “Coated optics”, “Ventilation”. When the crew reaches one hundred percent, you can replace the fan with a “Tool Box” so that you don’t have to stand on the “harp” often.

We place the following consumables: “Manual fire extinguisher”, “Large first aid kit” (+15 to protection from injuries), “Large repair kit” (+10 to repair speed). If you are not afraid of knocking out the engine, take the “Code of Cola” to increase the characteristics of the crew.

T28- a good defensive tank destroyer that can both shoot from ambushes and press the front on the front line.

At the start, you will immediately decide where you will go. Your speed is close to negative and there is a chance of not being able to get anywhere. If the meeting point with the enemy is too far away, and the route runs through rough terrain, then it is better to abandon the idea of accompanying allies. It’s better to see where the fewest teammates will go and set up a defensive post there. Keep a distance of one hundred meters from the enemy, otherwise they will “carousel”!

Defense is what the Turtle does best. Know yourself to catch ricochets and shoot back. But you need to know a couple of points in order to do this as efficiently as possible. First, protect yourself from the effects of art. Take a position behind cover, or on the back slope of a hill. Don't make life easier for one-button people! Don’t stand at gunpoint like a statue, fidget back and forth so as not to get caught in the convex turrets. Try to hide the vulnerable VLD behind a fold of terrain or stones - you will live longer.

But sometimes def is contraindicated. Allies can merge en masse, and then you will be dismantled by the crowd of evil and nimble ST and LT. Therefore, if the map is small, it is quite possible to play the role of an armored train and push through the front. When the “Turtle” is rushing at you, few people don’t lose their nerve. Instead of knocking down your track, enemies will most likely try to target weak spots and pay dearly for it. Exchange hit points with T28- not a solution.

City maps are the best thing that happens to this self-propelled gun. When your flank and rear are reliably covered, it is quite possible to damage even the largest concentrations of enemy armored vehicles. The main thing is to look at the mini-map in time and master square-by-square tactical thinking. The self-propelled gun spins in place much better than it moves forward. A small hint: although our sides are only 50 mm, behind the tracks there is all 106 mm of armor. Therefore, deceive the enemy into a shot, driving backwards at an acute angle due to an obstacle.

Artillery is your main enemy. If there are more than two self-propelled guns in battle, you can immediately drain them. In this case, there is only one option - diving into a non-shootable zone, but this passive method rarely led to victory, especially in oncoming battles and assaults. Therefore, it is better to go forward and die honestly at the front, exchanging health for frags.

Review of the tank's strengths and weaknesses. Results

pros:

  • Good armor
  • Lethal weapon
  • Low silhouette
  • Not a bad farm

Minuses:

  • Lack of mobility
  • Armor doesn't tank everywhere
  • Low UVN
  • The engine often crashes

T28- this tank destroyer has its pros and cons, and will most likely appeal to those players who do not like fuss. Shoot from the bushes, change the direction, slowly crawl onto the enemy’s defenses... No, of course, this also requires a certain skill, but for some reason it doesn’t hurt to lose on the Turtle. Apparently, initially you don’t expect anything special, and it’s all the more pleasant when the self-propelled gun surprises. As they say, rarely, but aptly.

Good luck in battle!

In today's video review of World of Tanks from JMR, we will get acquainted with the American tank destroyer level 8 T28 Prototype, in Russian - prototype, in gaming jargon - “sprat”. Those who love this bird, but do not fully understand all its secrets, should watch this video guide.

As the name suggests, this is one of the possible versions of the T28 in the US branch, in general an unsuccessful attempt to attach a turret to a super heavy self-propelled gun. This attempt was made in 1945 in parallel with the development of the T29 and T30 tanks, to which it was inferior in almost all significant characteristics.

According to Wikipedia, neither prototypes nor even drawings of this self-propelled gun have survived. However, in World of Tanks we can get to know it and try out the key differences between the Prototype and the T28. I'm not just talking about having a tower. Much greater popularity of the T28 Prototype is given by further tanks in its development branch, or more precisely, the absence of the T95 there and the presence of turret tanks: T30 and T110e4.

Features of the T28 Prototype tank destroyer - pros and cons

What can you say about this car if you look at its characteristics. In general, it is very similar to its closest relative - the American T28 tank destroyer. The prototype has the same weapon, with the same penetration and one-time damage, but with slightly worse other characteristics: aiming time, accuracy, rate of fire and, accordingly, DPM. These differences compensate for the presence of a rotating turret, which is indeed a significant advantage of this AT. The Prototype's ammunition load, like that of the T28, consists of 40 rounds.

Let's move on. The prototype has an average number of health points, a weight of 66 and a penny tons, the lowest specific engine power and speed of movement forward and backward among its classmates, but the presence of a rotating turret along with the rotation of the chassis allows you to change the firing sector with an angular speed of 38° per second. This is the best value at the level; only the Jagd Panhter II and the Soviet semi-ST SU101 can compete with us. Horizontal aiming angles, in this case this is the turret rotation angle - 286°, a value less than 360, which means it is impossible to freely rotate the turret in a circle. The prototype also has a limiter in the turret rotation mechanism, and if we give the firefly or ST the opportunity to drive behind us, we will automatically turn into an ordinary clumsy PT, we will not be able to tighten the turret there and, most likely, will very quickly go to the hangar.

The presence of an open turret allows, in the best traditions of American tanks, to lower the gun 10° down. This opens up the opportunity to play through the tops of hills and slides, exposing only a small and well-armored piece of the tank - the front of the turret - to shots. In this case, the gun rises quite well. The viewing radius is 380 meters, not the best in the game, but far from the worst at level 8. In addition to the characteristics of the gun and the worst level of mobility, the presence of a turret and excellent vertical aiming angles is accompanied by invisibility that is much inferior to that of the T28. But we still remain tank destroyers and in this characteristic we are far ahead of heavy tanks. It is not so easy to notice the Prototype while stationary, especially with a crew whose camouflage has been upgraded, and when moving, and when fired, we glow about the same as other level 8 PTs. Separately, it must be said that the presence of a tower gives us another serious advantage. The fact is that turning the hull is considered a movement, which often greatly harms ordinary tank tanks that need to shoot at enemies spotted to the side, turning the turret is not considered a movement, we can change the direction of the guns without increasing the visibility of the tank and without interrupting the operation of the camouflage network and stereo pipe .

As the name suggests, the T28 and T28 Prototype in World of Tanks have a lot in common; in fact, they have everything in common except the chassis. Therefore, if you have already leveled up the T95 branch, then here, before accumulating experience on T30, you will only have to open the top chassis. In addition, if you have not even played T25 AT before, its predecessor T28, then I advise you to gain 18,000 free experience on a pre-top gun and only then go into the first battle. A stock gun with penetration by 170mm armor-piercing shells will have to be loaded exclusively with premium shells. In any case, we examine the chassis last. The carrying capacity of the first is sufficient to install all the top modules and additional equipment.

How to break through T28 Prototype

Now let's see what this tank offers in terms of armor and armament. Shells with 112mm penetration from the front cannot do any damage to the prototype. The hull and occasionally the turret are easily penetrated from the side. From behind, dealing damage is easy. What is especially interesting is that shells with a penetration of 170mm also cannot harm the prototype from the front, although theoretically they should have been less confident in penetrating the machine gun nest. The sides of the diamond almost immediately begin to break through, and the low speed of rotation of the chassis will not allow you to quickly change the angle of the diamond, preventing them from being aimed. And finally, gold shells from classmates at short distances will be able to penetrate most of the front of the prototype.

The prototype is a rare case when the lower frontal part is not only difficult to pierce, but much more difficult than the upper one. Although it is somewhat thinner, the angle at which it meets projectiles is very sharp. And there is no point in trying to heal her. In a diamond, both the ALD and the AED quickly become almost impenetrable with increasing angle of rotation. But as soon as we pass the rebound angle, the side of the hull begins to break through easily. And from the side it is the one that is most accessible. The thickness of the armor here is only 50mm, and it willingly accepts damage from anyone.

The turret is not so easy to penetrate: 127mm of armor at good angles will often deflect shells. The slope of the armor at the base of the tower is slightly less, so if it is impossible to shoot at the hull, hit it there, in the center of the base of the tower. Generally speaking, by allowing the enemy onto our sides, we are taking a very big risk. Most of the side, among other things, contains only two of the most vulnerable modules: the ammunition rack (when its hit point reserve drops to zero, the tank explodes) and fuel tanks (if you take away their HP, it burns).

From behind, it is better to inflict damage on the vertical part of the hull and the straightened back of the turret. The top cover of the case is only 25mm thick, so it can ricochet armor-piercing shells with a caliber of up to 75mm.

The top gun, the same as on the second American PT, is well suited for shooting at any distance. True, the slightly increased dispersion complicates the task of targeting the weak points of well-armored tanks.

Differences between T28 Prototype and T28

Well, let's look at the key differences between the T28 Prototype and the most similar tank in World of Tanks, the T28. Let's start with the positives. First. The presence of a turret allows you to prepare for shooting much faster, moving out from behind cover, and hiding back. Second. Thanks to the same tower, even with a limited rotation angle, we can resist twisting much longer and cannot be supported from the side. Third. Good elevation angles make it possible to play over hilltops. And fourth. The absence of a transmission in the front of the tank will save us from many completely unnecessary fires.

But there are only two serious disadvantages. Firstly, we are even slower than the T28; moreover, at level 8 it is the slowest tank. And secondly, we have one of the worst weapons among our classmates with the lowest DPM. However, Tier 8 heavy tanks, not all of which have similar frontal armor, are hopelessly inferior to us in terms of potential damage per minute and camouflage.

Tactics, positions in battle for T28 Prototype

Poor mobility is a key feature of this tank. That is why in battles it is advisable to take positions as far as possible from the enemy and closer to the base, at least in the first part of the battle, in order to be able to return and defend it if necessary. Positions where the enemies will approach us on their own, but preferably before they crush our entire team. The prototype is terribly afraid of artillery: its ugly mobility is complemented by open cutting, which will often be the cause of crits, cantuses and one-shots.

When playing this tank destroyer in World of Tanks, it is advisable to position yourself in thickets of vegetation, which will significantly enhance your already good camouflage. This way we can hide from the enemy for a long time; very solid frontal armor and a gun with excellent declination angles allow us to survive, even if we are accidentally exposed. That is why camouflage is a skill that, along with the Prototype’s sixth sense, must be upgraded in its crew.

Equipment, gear and crew skills for the T28 Prototype tank destroyer

Next we take on repairs, and then the crew learns individual skills: the commander and radio operator improve visibility, the gunner improves smooth rotation of the turret, the driver improves his virtuoso skill, and the loader, for example, improves contactless ammunition racks. Equipment: fire extinguisher, repair kit and first aid kit. Equipment. The first slot, of course, is a gun rammer, and the other two are occupied by a camouflage net, reinforced aiming drives and a stereo tube, having previously removed one of them.

Ventilation is not installed on the T28 Prototype. His cabin is open and, obviously, is well ventilated on its own. The T28 Prototype is not the only self-propelled gun with good frontal armor and a modest DPM, but although in recent days, it is still the only tank gun at its level that can rotate its turret like a heavy tank. On the other hand, at level 8 there are slow heavy tanks and better armored tanks, but there are no heavy tanks with similar firepower and camouflage.

The prototype is in some ways better than both of them, and this helps compensate for its main drawback - terrible slowness. And most importantly, it is followed by two more excellent World of Tanks vehicles: the American turret tank T30 and T110e4. In due time we will get to them in reviews. In the meantime, I say goodbye to you. Best regards, jmr.
