Heating systems for country and country houses. Boilers, geysers, water heaters - Repair, service, operation

Electric boilers are good because they are quite simple to use - just connect them to the power supply. Moreover, they are safe and effective. The French manufacturing company Atlantic confidently holds the lead among manufacturers of this type of water heaters, offering consumers products of excellent quality and design.

High-quality Atlantic water heater and its advantages

The French company Atlantic, which produces boilers for heating water, is quite popular among consumers. This is due to the fact that this company has been on the market for quite a long time and has proven itself to be the best.

Atlantis heating devices are manufactured in cylindrical and square shapes. These devices are most often used in apartments and private houses.

Advantages of using Atlantic boilers:

  • Quite affordable price;
  • Fast water heating;
  • Corrosion resistance;
  • Cost-effective;
  • Wide selection of models for every taste;
  • Stylish design that can suit almost any room interior.

However, annual cleaning will help to avoid the latter, for which you can call a specialist, and the problem will be solved.

Before you decide to buy a water heater from any company, you should understand what they are like and understand the nuances of their operation.

The Atlantic water heating tank can be:

  1. Horizontal– in this case, the heating element of the device is located on the side, and the water inlet pipes are located very close, so the liquid is mixed in the structure itself, which can cause sudden temperature jumps at the outlet. But at the same time, such models are compact and can be placed under the ceiling, thereby not taking up much space.
  2. Vertical- costs less than horizontal. The heating element is located at the bottom of the unit, where the cold flow of liquid enters. Thanks to this, the water is heated faster.

Atlantic heaters can have a dry heating element enclosed in a special flask or submersible.

In order not to make a mistake in choosing a unit, you should consider:

  1. The need for heated liquid, which directly depends on the number of its consumers. For example, the average amount of water for bathing one person in a shower stall is approximately 30-50 liters, and about 20 liters are needed for washing dishes and hands.
  2. The power of the device and its compliance with the permissible network load. In order to heat the water as quickly as possible, models with a power of 2-2.5 kW are often taken. But if you have old wiring in your house, you shouldn’t go too fast. It is better to take a 1.2-1.5 kW unit, however, the heating time will increase.
  3. Device location. If there is little free space in the room where you plan to install the unit, it is better to choose a horizontal model.
  4. Water quality. If it is too hard, then the tank will have to be cleaned frequently due to scale appearing on its walls, which shortens the service life of the device.

When choosing a water heater, special attention should be paid to the volume of the tank. A 50-liter tank is enough for one person or a couple who is at home mostly in the evening. 80 liter tanks are larger and more spacious. They are convenient to purchase for a family of 2-3 people who are often at home.

The 100 liter boiler can be connected to different liquid supply points, allowing them to be used simultaneously. This volume is easily enough for 3-4 people. The instructions will help you figure out how to connect the device.

It is not advisable to purchase equipment in inappropriate places or in points where there are no certificates of compliance with GOST.

Popular Atlantic water heater: model range

If you decide to purchase an Atlantic boiler, it is worth studying the popular models of these water heaters to determine what you need.

Today there are three common lines of these boilers:

  1. Classic– very affordable water heaters. Their design consists of a copper heating element and a magnesium solution in the tank, which prevents the formation of corrosion. But, nevertheless, cleaning is still necessary.
  2. Advanced– this series is characterized by a ceramic heating element with a submersible heating element. These models are in good demand among consumers and, as a rule, receive only positive reviews.
  3. Premium– as the name suggests, heaters in this line are available at a higher price. This is due to the presence in the system of a titanium anode, a ceramic heating element and a special anti-corrosion coating.

Like any other equipment, Atlantic boilers can fail. In this case, it is better not to try to do the repair yourself, but to call a specialist who can competently and quickly repair your equipment.

Atlantic boiler 80 liters: what is good about a dry heating element

Atlantic water heaters can be equipped with either submersible or dry heating elements. Moreover, the latter are considered more popular models. Why does this happen?

Advantages of dry heating element:

  • Longer service life - this is due to the fact that it is enclosed in a special flask and does not come into contact with the liquid, and therefore is not affected by it;
  • No scale on the element;
  • There is no need to regularly clean the device or use any means to improve the functioning of the unit;
  • The cost of a dry heating element is cheaper than a “wet” one.

By the way, if a dry-type heating element breaks, getting to it will be quite easy. And you won’t have to spend a lot of time searching for a replacement or repairing a part.

And yet, despite the undeniable advantages, a water heater with a dry heating element has one drawback - the water in such a boiler heats up rather slowly, since the heating element is located in a separate container, and not in the water.

Features of the Atlantic boiler (video)

If the quality of the device comes first for you, then you should pay attention to Atlantis boilers. They are reliable, durable, comfortable and easy to use. Thanks to the wide range of manufactured models, you can choose exactly the device you need.

In our review we will touch on Atlantic electric and indirect boilers. We will consider both simple models, made in cylindrical cases, and designer ones, distinguished by their solid appearance and well-thought-out ergonomics. Their production involves the developer’s proprietary technologies – Diamond-Quality tank protection, Smart Control control system, Steatite dry heating elements, ACI Hybrid and O’Pro corrosion protection technologies. They allow us to produce reliable and durable water heaters.

Popular models

Let's move from words to action and consider the most interesting and popular models. These include water heaters of 10 and 100 liters, designer samples, products with powerful tank protection, as well as devices with dry heating elements. Along with descriptions of Atlantic boilers, their detailed technical characteristics will be given.

"Atlantic" O'Pro Small PC 10 RB

The overview opens to a tiny water heater with a volume of 10 liters. Its tank is enclosed in a barrel-shaped body and is equipped with a protective glass-ceramic coating. A magnesium anode provides additional protection against rust on welds. The power of the heating element is 2 kW, which ensures fast water preparation. A distinctive feature of the device is the ability to operate in rooms with high humidity levels.

The Atlantic water heater O’Pro Small PC 10 RB heats water to a temperature of +65 degrees and withstands pressure up to 8 atmospheres. The heating time to the maximum mark is 19 minutes. The boiler is well suited for dacha use and will help out during periods when hot water supply is cut off in big cities. The estimated cost of the baby is 4,500 rubles.

In front of us is an 80-liter Atlantic boiler - this volume is enough for a family of 2-3 people. The key feature of the model is a dry steatite (ceramic) heating element. To protect against corrosion, Diamond-quality technology is used, which involves applying a special enamel that is resistant to corrosion to the inner surface of the tanks. The water heater is installed in two positions - vertical or horizontal. It does not take up much space, as it is made in a thin elongated body.

A heating element with a power of 2.1 kW is responsible for the rapid preparation of hot water. It copes with its task well, which is confirmed by user reviews. The maximum heating level is +65 degrees with a pressure in the tank of up to 8 atmospheres. The control system used is mechanical, with a power-on indicator, a thermometer and a heating limiter. The approximate price in Russian online stores is 10-11 thousand rubles.

"Atlantic" Steatite Elite 100

Atlantic water heaters with dry heating elements are characterized by increased heater resistance to corrosion. To do this, the heating elements are encased in protective housings, which prevents their contact with water and further destruction. The presented model is made using exactly this technology and has a capacity of 100 liters. The time for heating water to the maximum level is 246 minutes - that’s a lot. The whole point is that the heating element is too low - its power is only 1.5 kW.

The storage boiler tank is protected by a durable glass-ceramic coating and equipped with a magnesium anode. Several degrees of protection make it resistant to corrosion, which does not spare even the most durable alloys. The volume is enough for any need - washing dishes, taking a shower, washing hands. The approximate cost of the model from the French brand "Atlantic" is 11.5 thousand rubles.

"Atlantic" Ingenio VM 080 D400-3-E

Atlantic water heaters - Tips for operation, repair and troubleshooting

Tell me, does the Atlantic Vertigo Steatite 50 model have a safety valve against overpressure? And is there a heating indication, a light that lights up when the water heating process begins, and goes out after the heating element is turned off. I just heard about water heaters exploding, and you need to keep an eye on that on/off indicator.

heating element (heating element). And also, if you use this heater only in the summer, and occasionally in the winter (for example, on New Year’s holidays) and then drain all the water and disassemble the device, is there still a high probability of breakdown?

A safety valve is included. There is an indicator light that will show you whether the machine is heating up or not. For the winter you will have to disassemble and drain the water, otherwise it will not drain completely.

Atlantic Steatite Slim VM 80 l. and Elite 80 l. They differ, among other things, in the power and presence of a magnesium anode in Slim. As far as I understand, with a dry heating element the absence of a magnesium anode is not critical. But for a country house it’s better to have less power, about 1500, so as not to knock it out?

The presence of an anode is required, the tank is steel and covered with enamel. The manufacturer requires checking the condition of the anode every 1.5-2 years. The question is what will hold up or not. You need to look at how much power is allocated to the house and consider the entire connected load.

I want to buy an Atlantic electric storage water heater 100 liters S4CM. What can you say about him?

Dry heating element, 7-year warranty on tank, 2-year warranty on electrics. Ideal for hard water.

The Atlantic storage water heater has 80 liters of heating element, as I understand it, 2 kW? This is good. And what do they write about additional protection? Judging by the advertisement, some potential is applied to the anode. Is this electrochemical protection?

I have a storage boiler Atlantic Steatite Cube VM 100 S4CM, steatite (dry) heating element. Dual-mode 1.2 kW and 2.4 kW. It has 2 thermostats: protective and regulating heating temperature. Worked for 2 years in 2.4 kW mode at maximum heat. Breakdown: first the protective thermostat started to break down. Then the place where the neutral wire was attached melted. Replaced the thermostat with a new one.

Now, in the 2.4 kW mode, the mounting wires inside become very hot, both neutral and phase. In 1.2 kW mode they do not heat up. From the 16A machine to the boiler there are 4 square copper wires. These wires don't get hot. What could be the reason for overheating of the wires inside the unit, given that the contacts are all connected tightly and not loose?

Unfortunately, we do not have the opportunity to advise on such highly technical issues remotely, since everything needs to be checked on the spot; it is recommended to call a specialist.

I have an Atlantic 50 liter electric water heater, it has worked perfectly since 2007, but one evening I noticed that water was dripping from it.

Please advise how to fix this (if possible), or call in specialists?

If there is leakage through the gasket, replace it.

Boiler Atlantic Round Standard 50. The problem is that it heats the water to strong boiling water and for some reason does not turn off automatically for about 4 hours. The temperature sensor on the case indicates above average, although it is set to minimum. Is this the norm? Or a thermostat failure?

This is an electric water heater. It can only be “connected” to the boiler by wires. In a sense, both it and the boiler have a certain electrical power. The boiler you are planning is 6 kW, the EWH is 2.4 kW. Do you have this allocated 10 kW (at least turn on the kettle) of electrical power? There is an option to heat hot water in an indirect heating boiler using an electric boiler. Double benefit - less allocated power is needed and the water heats up much faster.

If water is leaking from under the inner blue plastic that contains the cold water pipe, what should you do in this case? Boiler Atlantic series Opro VM 100.

It is necessary to establish the exact location of the leak, the pipes and connections can be replaced, repairing a tank leak is usually not cost-effective and short-lived. If the leak is not large, condensation is possible.

At the dacha (one small house) there is a pumping station. Its water maintenance thresholds are from 2 to 3 atmospheres (on - off). I installed an Atlantic Ego 50 boiler. My brother had it for a long time, but was rarely used.
The unit is working. The check valve was checked and cleaned - it is in good working order. Unfortunately, there is no data sheet for it, but judging by the brackets, it can be installed both vertically and horizontally. I installed it vertically
horizontal)? If it is vertical, then, contrary to logic, it is necessary to place the indicator and regulator at the top (so that the blue water intake is at the bottom)? Or is it still horizontal? Or do you still need to install something?

Is the valve itself correct? If it is working properly and installed correctly, in any case, hot water should not pass through it. Well, maybe a little, if it works. Vertical model, indicator and regulator at the bottom. You need to completely fill the device (you need taps on both pipes), disconnect it from the system and open both taps. There will be a global gush from the first, and air will be sucked into the second. The first is the cold water inlet, the second is the hot water outlet.

What is the design and principle of operation of the Atlantic Steatite Exclusive 200 storage water heater?

Conventionally, all models, the installation of which is best left to specialists, can be divided into two types: “Dry” - steatite heating elements in flasks; “Wet” - copper heating elements without flasks.

How do “dry” steatite heating elements differ from steel tubular heaters that are used by other manufacturers in “dry” models?

Soapstone is an ideal natural material for electrical equipment. It has very high physical characteristics, mechanical strength and stability. Soapstone can withstand temperatures above 1000C, does not burn and has excellent thermal conductivity. Compared to steel heaters, soapstone elements have a larger heat transfer area, which allows them to heat water faster.
They heat up almost instantly and take a long time to cool down, which has a beneficial effect on the energy efficiency of the EWH.

How many liters of hot water comes out of a 100 liter Atlantic water heater?

When drawing water from a hot tap at the point of consumption, the volume of water heated to the maximum temperature will be about 3/4 of the total volume of the device. The remaining 1/4 part is water from the layer where mixing of heated water and incoming cold water occurs. The amount of hot water coming out depends on the intensity of the flow through the EWH and the temperature of the incoming water.

Why does the heating time increase during the cold season?

This is due to a decrease in the temperature of the incoming cold water supply.

What is the maximum water heating temperature?

Maximum heating temperature 63±30 C.

Why is there no scale on the temperature gauge?

The temperature indicator is designed to display the process of heating or cooling water in the device. It is not an accurate measuring instrument.

Is it necessary to disconnect the Atlantic 50 liter boiler from the power supply after each heating?

No. The unit operates in automatic mode. When the temperature set on the thermostat is reached, the contact opens and the voltage is removed from the heating element, the device turns off. When cooling, the contact closes and voltage is applied to the heating element.

What is the energy consumption when operating the Atlantic Vertigo Steatite 100 electric water heater?

The amount of electricity consumed depends on the intensity of operation of the device, as well as the temperature of the cold liquid entering it.

What is the safety valve for in the 80 liter Atlantic model?

Why is it dripping?
The safety valve is designed to prevent liquid from flowing out of the tank if there is no liquid in the cold water supply riser, as well as to relieve excess pressure formed in the tank during the expansion of heated water. Pressure is released by releasing a small amount of it from a special hole when the pressure in the tank reaches 8 atm. Installing the valve from the kit to the device

required.

How much volume can be discharged from the safety valve relief port on the Atlantic Steatite Elite 80?

This depends on the intensity of operation - the more often the device is turned on for heating, the greater the amount of liquid will be discharged.

It also depends on the pressure in the cold water supply riser - the higher the pressure in the riser, the less time it takes to reach the pressure in the tank at which the discharge occurs.
The model Steatite Cube 100 is in operation. Why is a magnesium anode needed and why should it be periodically replaced?

The purpose of the magnesium anode is to increase reliability and improve operating conditions of the unit by protecting the steel tank from corrosion and preventing the formation of dense scale deposits on the copper heating element. The protection of a steel tank from corrosion lies in the fact that during the electrochemical interaction of several metals in an aqueous solution, corrosion of the metal with a lower

The replacement frequency for models N4E, N4, PC, S3S, D400-1-M, Round VMR, Delfa N4L, Aston, Welcome is 12 months. When using the device in production, in the service sector and public catering establishments – 6 months.

Can Atlantic water heaters be used in manufacturing, catering and service facilities?

Provided that maintenance activities are carried out in a timely manner, you can buy Atlantic boilers and use them for domestic, household, industrial and other needs.

Why are Atlantic brand storage water heaters positioned as French? After all, the manufacturer is Ukratlantik (Odessa)?

The Odessa plant "Ukratlantik" is part of the Atlantic Group concern, whose central office is located in France.

What guarantee does the Ukratlantik plant provide for its Atlantic water heaters?

Water heater with steatite heating element (“dry”) – 7 year warranty
Water heater with a copper heating element (“wet”) – from 3 to 5 years

The warranty applies only to Atlantic water heaters, the installation, connection and operation of which were carried out in accordance with the requirements and recommendations of the manufacturer.

What conditions must be met to qualify for warranty repair or replacement of a water heater?

The main condition is a qualified installation of a storage water heater. This means that connecting the water heater to the water and electricity supply systems, as well as putting it into operation, must be entrusted to professionals. It is also necessary to systematically service boilers.

Other warranty requirements are usually specified in the warranty card and operating instructions.

How long will an Atlantic water heater last?

On average, Atlantic boilers, the price of which is fully justified by the impeccable quality of the equipment, last at least 7 years. It is necessary to understand that the service life of a water heater directly depends on the quality of the water and the intensity of its operation. Regular maintenance also plays a huge role in extending the life of your boiler.

Who should install a water heater? Do I need to contact an authorized service center when putting the boiler into operation?

Subject to compliance with all standards and requirements specified in the connection manual, installation of a storage water heater and its commissioning can be carried out by any specialist with sufficient qualifications. When putting the boiler into operation, no measures requiring the participation of specialized services are provided.

What is the difference between boilers with “wet” and “dry” heating elements?

“Dry” heating elements are placed in special enamel flasks, so they do not come into contact with water. In this case, there are no galvanic interactions between the walls of the steel tank and the heating element (as in models with “wet” copper heating elements), so the likelihood of corrosion is practically reduced to zero.

We also note that over time, a coating of lime and other deposits may form on “wet” heating elements, which is caused by elements and inclusions located in running water. This reduces the heat transfer of the heating element and can even lead to its failure.

Which models of Atlantic storage water heaters produced at the Ukratlantik plant are equipped with “dry” steatite heating elements?

These are models marked VMS3C, VMN3CM(E), VMS4CM, VMN4C(E), VMD400-1-MC.

What is the structure and principle of operation of a storage water heater?

Conventionally, all Atlantic water heaters, the installation of which is best left to our specialists, can be divided into two types:

“Dry” – steatite heating elements in flasks
“Wet” - copper heating elements without flasks

Water heater with a “wet” heating element

All storage water heaters consist of two tanks: an internal working tank - a steel tank at least 1.5 mm thick, and an external tank. Between the tanks there is polyurethane foam thermal insulation. The tank body contains a short pipe with a divider that supplies cold water, as well as a long pipe that serves to draw hot water.

Water heater with dry heating element

The electrical part of the unit is located on the flange and includes:

a heating element
thermostat
magnesium anode and warning light

There is also a temperature indicator to control water heating. All Atlantic storage water heaters are supplied with a safety valve for a short pipe, which is installed during installation.

How do Atlantic “dry” soapstone heating elements differ from the steel tubular heaters that are used by other manufacturers in the “dry” models of their boilers?

Soapstone is an ideal natural material for electrical equipment. It has very high physical characteristics, mechanical strength and stability. Soapstone can withstand temperatures above +1000°C, does not burn and has excellent thermal conductivity.

Compared to steel heaters, soapstone elements have a larger heat transfer area, which allows them to heat water faster. Soaptite heating elements heat up almost instantly and cool down for a long time, which has a beneficial effect on the energy efficiency of the water heater.

Tell us about the O’PRO system – additional protection against corrosion?

To increase the effective service life of magnesium anodes in Atlantic water heaters with copper heating elements, the O’PRO anti-corrosion protection system was developed.

The O’PRO system is a 580 Ohm resistance installed between the magnesium anode and the heating element, which, by reducing the galvanic current between the water heater tank, the copper heating element and the magnesium anode, serves as additional anti-corrosion protection.

How does a storage water heater work?

Atlantic boilers, which we install as quickly and professionally as possible, are connected to the electrical network after the tank is completely filled with water.

The water is heated to the temperature value set on the thermostat.
After heating the entire volume of water to the set temperature, the thermostat turns off the voltage supply to the heating element.
If a hot water supply tap is opened at the water distribution point, cold water from the water supply enters the tank instead of used hot water. In this case, hot water is drawn from the upper part of the tank, and cold water enters its lower part.
Cold water lowers the overall temperature in the tank. The thermostat, reacting to a drop in temperature, again begins to supply power to the heating element until the water in the tank warms up again to the desired temperature.

How is the water temperature regulated?

In Atlantic boilers with copper “wet” heaters, the temperature is set using a thermostat: the knob is turned counterclockwise to the desired temperature value. Atlantic storage water heaters with “dry” soapstone heaters have a thermostat regulator that turns clockwise.

How much hot water comes out of the boiler when drawing water?

At the point where hot water is taken from the tank, the volume of water that is heated to the maximum temperature is about 75% of the total volume of water in the tank. The remaining 25% is water from the intermediate layer, in which the already heated water is mixed with the incoming cold. The volume of hot water coming out depends on its temperature and the intensity of water intake.

Why do water heaters take longer to heat water in winter?

This is a feature of all water heaters, and it is due to the fact that during cold periods the temperature of the incoming water naturally decreases.

What is the maximum water heating temperature provided by an Atlantic electric water heater?

The water heats up to an average of 60-70°C.

Why don't the temperature gauges on Atlantic boilers have a temperature scale?

These indicators are intended to display the status of the water heating/cooling process, and are not high-precision measuring devices.

Do I need to turn off the storage water heater after each water heating?

The Atlantic boiler is equipped with a thermostat, which, after reaching the set temperature, automatically removes voltage from the contacts, thereby turning off the water heater. Therefore, there is no need to do this yourself. The thermostat also automatically turns on the boiler after the temperature of the water in the tank drops.

How much electricity does a storage water heater consume?

Electricity consumption depends on the intensity of water intake and the temperature of incoming cold water.

Why does a boiler need a safety valve, and why does water periodically drip from it?

The safety valve prevents water from flowing out of the tank in the event of a lack of water supply in the water supply. This valve also serves to relieve pressure that is excessively formed in the tank when heated, and therefore increases the volume of water. When the pressure reaches 8 Atm. A small amount of water is discharged from a special hole in the valve, thereby reducing the pressure in the tank.

When installing Atlantic water heaters, it is mandatory to install a safety valve. The instruction manual provides an image of the valve that comes with your water heater. To drain the discharged water, use a flexible tube (medical dropper, for example).

How much water usually drains from the safety valve?

The amount of water depends on the pressure in the “cold” riser. The higher it is, the less time it takes for the pressure in the tank to reach the point at which water must be discharged.

In addition, there is a dependence on the intensity of operation of the boiler. The more often Atlantic boilers, the sale and service of which is a priority area of activity for our company, operate for heating, the more often the pressure increases, which means the greater the amount of water is discharged.

What is the purpose of the magnesium anode, and does it need to be replaced periodically?

A magnesium anode is needed to protect the storage water heater from corrosion, as well as to prevent scale formation when using a copper “wet” heating element.

During an electrochemical reaction between several metals that are in an aqueous solution, the metal with the lowest electrode potential undergoes corrosion. In the case of a boiler, the highest potential is in the copper from which the heating element is made. Next comes the steel (water heater tank). The lowest potential is at the magnesium anode. It is this that undergoes corrosion, completely deteriorating over time, and therefore requires periodic replacement.

How often should the magnesium anode be replaced?

For boiler models Atlantic N4, N4E, S3S, D400-1-M, PC, the frequency of anode replacement is 12 months for domestic use, and 6 months for use of the boiler in production and in public catering areas.

Electric water heaters Atlantic S3C, S4 CM, N3CM(E), N4C(E), D400-1-MC need to replace the magnesium anode every 24 months for domestic use, and 12 months for industrial use.

Is the magnesium anode included in the warranty?

Since this item is consumable, it is not covered by the warranty.

What to do if the boiler breaks down?

Warranty and post-warranty repairs are carried out by specialists from the Atlantic service center closest to you. The call center manager, having accepted the request, transfers it to the authorized service center and also controls its further implementation.

The Atlantic boiler cannot be dismantled before the service center specialists arrive, as in this case the warranty will be terminated.

Who should service Atlantic boilers?

Service activities must be carried out by authorized service centers. For questions about service, warranty and post-warranty service, please call the hotline 0 800 500 885.
